The New Education Policy (2020) is a historic effort and first omnibus policy after thirty-four years, under Modi regime. The purpose of NEP is a framework to guide the development of education in the country. This is IndiaÔÇÖs third policy which replaces the 1986 NEP. According to the Government, the NEP 2020 is formulated after having considered over 2 lakh suggestions from different levels of local self-bodies, 2.5 lakh gram panchayats, 6,600 blocks, 6,000 ULBs and 676 districts with the aim of holistic productivity and contributing citizens for building an equitable, inclusive, and plural society with an increased Gross Enrollment Ration (GER) of 50% by 2035.

GUWAHATI: Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IITG), along with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has implemented the Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme for Jammu and Kashmir students. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed to this effect to pave the way for providing exposure to the youth from Jammu and Kashmir to advanced academic culture at the higher learning institutes of the country.

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched MeriLiFE movement as a key to combating climate change and promote plantation. Under this mission, target of ÔÇ£One croreÔÇØ Tree Plantation has been taken by AICTE. Hence, AICTE requests all students, faculty and staff members of its approved Institutions to plant at least one tree having suitable utility in the respective region. The name of the Tree may be given on the name of person who planted that tree.
