MoU between Microsoft Operations Pte Limited & AICTE
All India Council For Technical Education has signed MoU with Microsoft Operations Pte Limited, to provide the free services offered by Microsoft to the student community in the Technical Field. The main objective is to enhance the student and faculty capabilities of Colleges approved by AICTE in technology development vis a vis alternate sources of information and development platforms.
Microsoft offers an academic software licensing programme tailored for the students engaged in activities in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Design. This programme is currently referred as Dreamspark Programme. Microsoft shall give the agreed number of Access Keys for Dreamspark, to AICTE, for the beneficial, non commercial use of students of institutions recognized by the later. The access keys shall be distributed to the students through the AICTE intranet and the students will be redirected through a link to www.dreamspark.com. Student benefits are offered to each student having the access key subject to the students acceptance of the End User License Agreement. AICTE may, in its discretion, at its own cost undertake promotional activities to spread awareness about the programme and its benefits to the students. The objectives behind AICTE and Microsoft agreeing on this MoU are
- Provide Technology access to sections of Indian Education System. Empower students and faculty alike including financially weaker section to have access to the design software to enhance their learning
- Reduce or eliminate digital divide between the urban and rural education community
- Promote students moral values to use Legal softwares
The MoU was signed on 15th October, 2010 and the period is for 3 years.
